Rens Ursem

Rens Ursem - born in 2001 in Alkmaar, Netherlands - finished his bachelor Medical Natural Sciences cum laude at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2022. He then joined the TU Delft to pursue the master Biomedical Engineering (Medical Devices track). Here, he developed an interest in medical devices governed by physical principles from biophysics, optics, and microfluidics—devices whose principles captivate the imagination yet remain closely tied to patient care. Looking for such innovations for his Msc. Thesis, he found himself  under supervision of dr. Andre Bossche, dr. Annemarijn Steijlen and Jeroen Bastemeijer at the department of Microelectronics. In his Msc. Thesis he will focus on a Microfluidic Sweat Sensor for Continuous Health Monitoring. Along with his studies, he is a passionate climber and ballet dancer, and works as a sports massagist in Alkmaar.
